Thanks Mehul and Megha for reminding me of those wonderful memories of MY SCHOOL. When we were in school we used to take pride in bunking Prathna. Now I realise how foolish we were ! I miss Prathna Mandir and its wonderful atmosphere.
It would certainly be nice if some one posts more pics of our school.

I was a batchmate of Rutvij and have seen him bunk a lot of Prarthanas. Now, he realizes his mistakes. Well.. I still dont. I used to bunk with him and it was so much fun. That made it more special. We dont remember every period we did not bunk, we do remember the ones that we did. Those are special ones.
I still respect and cherish Prarthana Mandir and all other memories with my school. I wouldnt be here without it.
Thank you again for bringing it back to me.
Great to see this… I was also on this stage on various ocassions… sitting on for Pratharan either singing or playing some instruments, doing some plays, speaches etc… Good to see this nice effort… i do sing and remember some of the songs …
hi mehul, so nice of you. i am anand trivedi from perth, western australia. seeing this elegant prarthana mandir makes my eye dabbed with tears. i miss this stage and vidhyavihar and all a lot. i wish time could have been paused there when i was in school. Today inspite of having every luxary of life, I think we all miss that a lot. Again thanks for all snaps.

Amazingly wonderful….thanks a million Mehul…..being in Melbourne away from home and my favorite school C.N. this is a great gift…..i can recall all my memories of school time especially all the prarthanas, to go on a stage and sit in a first row everyday was a really great opportunity for me…..and to find all the friends sitting in audience was fun….thanks again for refreshing all my memories…..god bless you…..take care…..

we may reach places… we may “tag” ourself with designer,doctor,engineer, whatso ever…nickname that our friends called us by rules aboe all of that, and this place, our prarthana mandir, stays in such solid memories ! i used to sit on the team that was from sangeet udyog and used to sing the prayers. those memories are still solid. i have never found any prayer more powerful than Satya Ahimsa….and it still echoes…soothing me from inside.

Thank you so much for reminding us where we got “Jeevan nu Bhathu”. I am filled with emotions looking at the prarthana mandir and listening to Bhailalbhai’s songs. I have very fond memory of Bhailalbhai, since myself and my twin brother Vinay were his favourite shishyas along with Apurva Madia from 1971 to 1975.My wife Darshana also graduated from CN and is fond of all of his songs. May be we should all have a seminar on his songs and all the students can meet somewhere !! world is small now !!

Hi mehul …….as u came in touch of c n due to you nanaji i also came in touch with c n because of my mother’s FUVA . DHIRAJLAL TOKARSHI SHAH. I was in cn hostel due to my personal family reasons and i was exceptional case as that time no one was given addmission in c n if he was to be from big city and specially from city like mumbai. I would like to share one one my prathnamandirs memory here……….. This is i think that time i was in 11th standard and it was our class turn for the weekly proggrame, YOU MUST BE AWARE OF THIS TRADITION……… ha to aa proggrame ma mare to fakt announcement karvanu hatu ………..and the moment i reached on the stage i was scared having 2000 students opposite me but any how i managed my self in few seconds and i made the announcement but yes it was all in the jet speed and all my classmate told me about his later on…………..

As many of you are aware, I produced twin audeo cassettes titled :
” Vidyavihar Geeto” in the memory of Snehrashmi – which was released in January,2000 by Keshubhai Patel, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat in a glittering ceremony attended by all prominent CNites, including Madhav Ramanuj, Bhailalbhai Shah,Preeti Sengupta, Drs. Atul, Ajay, Sanjay Munshi, Chintan Parikh, Jayshri Mehta, Dipti Shah, Amal Dhru,Nitin Shukla, late Haren Pandya etc. to name a few.
Bhailalbhai Shah, our beloved Music Teacher was present throughout the recordings at the studio for all the 24 songs selected and was especially facilitated by the Chief Minister at the function for his valuable contribution and services to the teaching of music and writing famous garbas etc.
The album was produced with Gaurang Vyas as Music Director
[ under the presence and advice of Bhailalbhai Shah] and Arti Munshi, Pranav Mehta of Intel USA, Vibhaben Desai, Mrudulaben Parikh etc.

Jay Vidyavihar from a 1974 batch student Dhimant Manilal Gandhi. Though studied in 1971, I studied under Shri Dalal Saheb, Sakarchand C Shah, Bhailalbhai Shah and other technical teachers like shri Zala Saheb, Parmar Saheb, Willie Madam, Rajendra Shah. I remembered the time, when on farmaish of Shri Snehrashmi, Bhailalbhai continued to sing for 2/3 periods. Indeed when I look back at the age of 51 years, I find that as amost golden period of my lifr. I am at Maryland with my daughter. When I come back to Ahmdabad, I will contact you.

Mehul: Thanks for the good job. I can not forget the CN and its atmosphere, old friends, Gurus and what not. In last two years we lost two Great Gurus Pujya Dalal Saheb and Pujya Prajapatisaheb. I do not know who else is still living who tought me in fiftees.(I left CN in 1959). Your web and blog reminded the good old days and refreshed it’s memories.

With this site , we have also to publish gandhiji’s principles , thoughts etc. In C.N. we used to wear khadi. As on today we realised the value of khadi. Last week i was reading one book of Gunvantbhai Shah and he presented idea of khadi and logic behind for using khadi. The money u spent on khadi, is reaching to real weavers etc.
